About the role

The Senior Category and Commercial Manager will lead and be responsible for ensuring a best in class standard of delivery is adopted for all Procurement and Contract Management service level requirements whilst driving a transformational strategic plan.  As the Senior Category and Commercial Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing overarching strategic management plans to drive forward the Category Management structure that ensures robust business partnering occurs between the Procurement and Contracts Management Team and the broader Fremantle Ports stakeholder groups. Other key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading a transformational team of professional procurement specialists;
  • Accountable for centralised commercial contracts as they relate to Fremantle Ports;
  • Provides key advisory and contract support services;
  • Collaborates with contract stakeholders in order to lead the development of procurement strategies, contract objectives, scope, procurement timeframes, benchmarks for evaluation;
  • Oversee and develop contracts in accordance with Fremantle Ports Procurement and Contract Management policies and / or any WA State Government requirements.

About You

With contemporary knowledge you have demonstrated extensive experience in the planning, development and ongoing management of complex supply and client side commercial contracts.

You are a natural leader, with experience of building and leading teams during transformational programs of work. 

Your style is collaborative, with highly developed interpersonal and relationship management skills. You liaise, consult and negotiate effectively with competing stakeholder priorities, at all levels.

You bring a flexible, dynamic, solution-driven approach to the role and you may come from a Procurement, Finance or Legal background.
