The Position Purpose
The position requires an individual with high-level supervisory and interpersonal skills, with the ability and motivation to drive a team to deliver daily operational outcomes. The position requires an alert, business-oriented individual who is able to maximise business opportunities through timely decision making, awareness of cost control, innovative way of thinking and the professionalism to handle all tasks in a fast-paced environment with a conscientious manner. The position carries the responsibility to direct, co-ordinate, supervise and achieve service objectives for MFL Logistics. Ensuring that tasks are completed in the most efficient manner with agreed customer and operational standards being achieved in line with the businesses service offer.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Drive culture in line with the business strategy and beliefs of the MFL Logistics business.
Prioritise tasks and workload to be completed during a shift and allocate staff and equipment numbers within the operations to achieve completion of the operational tasks in the required time frames.
Manage the daily operational variations within the fleet operations that impact the MFL Logistics business and or customers in a professional manner.
Ensure drivers are instructed and allocated deliveries or pickups in an efficient and timely manner with a focus our commitment to the customer is achieved.
Continuously promote and focus on compliance with team members to adhere and overachieve to road rules, safety rules and overall business compliance daily.
Manage the current and future labour resources allocated within the day to day operations of MFL Logistics to assist in driving out inefficiencies and by reducing unnecessary operational costs Measured on controllable costs.
Drivers and staff to be clearly communicated with to understand their starting instructions for the next day.
Maintain rostering to achieve work being completed in normal operating hours. This will vary during the year.
Manage and maintain Annual Leave requests form the team under your daily control / responsibility.
To ensure that all equipment: Vehicles, Equipment, IT Devices are serviced in line with schedule and are kept in good condition for the operational team.
Ensure that all operational personal and Sub Contractors working for MFL Logistics understand their responsibility to adhere to safety requirements whilst working on our customers sites.
Prompt answering of the office and mobile phones to maintain satisfaction with our people and the customer.
Checking and approving drivers daily work load review to understand the workload and or if there have been inaccuracies or time delays. Allowing us to put in measures to improve the business daily inline with business strategies.
Follow up on customers enquirers without delay and report up the chain when necessary for a resolution or escalation.
Support business in bringing on new or additional business by making time to understand the solution and be part of the implementation process for business continuity, growth and success.
Contribute to bringing on new business and sharing opportunities with the business.
Be part of the recruitment process to ensure that there is investment to the operational team that is working for the business.
Manage staff to ensure they comply with their individual responsibilities under OH&S legislation.

Ensures that all tasks and enquires are responded to a high standard and within established standards and guidelines of business.
Sound communication skills, with experience dealing with both internal and external customers.
Product knowledge of the customer base to assist in business understanding.
Ability and willingness to work with teams internal and external.
Awareness of cost control and how to be effective in this area.
Ability to identify and remedy operational inefficiencies and service problems.
Initiative and enthusiasm to the task at hand.
Participate in MFL Logistics Return to Work and Rehabilitation program if injured at work.
Education and Experience
Secondary Education: Senior Year 11 or 12
Tertiary / TAFE: Cert III Transport & Distribution or similar would be highly regarded.
IT System and equipment experience using Allocation, Scanning systems and or any other logistics technologies.
Able to work with Microsoft product for reporting and daily work tasks.
License: Car License is adequate
Other: Work Experience in the logistics industry is highly regarded.
