Pastry Chef (Chef de Partie) Rosebery Production Kitchen
We're looking for a qualified and experienced pastry chef who can join the Gelato Messina team in our Kitchen. As part of our in-house production group, you will be a key member of an inspiring pastry team making intricately handcrafted gelato cakes, baked pastry goods and beautiful mono-portion patisserie items which are sold exclusively in our 19 retail stores.
Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Working in our creative kitchen 30-40 hours per week, you'll:
Produce large scale patisserie products including cakes, baked additions and custom event items. Quantities per item range from 200-1200 at a time
Produce intricate patisserie and gelato cake work
Work collaboratively with a team of pastry chefs and follow direction from the head and executive chefs
Uphold Messina's extremely high standards and quality control guidelines
Direct and supervise all routine and ad-hoc cleaning as required
Experience & Qualifications Required:
Previous experience (minimum 2 years) working as a pastry chef in a fast-paced environment is essential, experience with gelato is great but not essential. Certificate III or IV in Patisserie preferred or relevant work experience.
The casual hours will be Monday to Friday, between 7am - 4pm
