Greater Monaro Electrical Construction & Management (GM ECM) provides specialised design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems to residential, commercial, and Industrial customers throughout the Eden Monaro region. GM ECM is currently hiring Licensed Electricians who hold the requisite experience, qualifications and licenses and have strong understanding of QWHSE processes and best practices.

Required Qualifications & Licenses:

  • Construction Induction card (white card)
  • Manual driver license
  • First-aid Certificate
  • Working at Heights
  • Qualified Supervisor Certificate Electrical work (NSW & ACT)
  • CEC SPS Design and Install Accreditation (desirable)

Required Experience:

  • General domestic electrical work (3-5 years)
  • Commercial and Industrial construction (minimum 1 year)
  • Installing and maintaining electrical equipment, systems, and devices
  • Installing Fixtures and Electrical Components at Construction Sites
  • Terminating and Setting Switchgear, Panels, and other Distribution Equipment
  • Ensuring electrical installations and equipment are in accordance with AS/NZS 3000 Electrical installations, AS/NZS 5139 and AS/NZS 4509
  • Maintaining and Installing Fire Alarm Systems
  • Installation of On Grid PV Installation and Off Grid Systems (desirable)
  • Testing and Repair of Equipment

Skills & Competencies:

  • Understanding of customer needs, providing good quality service, and measuring customer satisfaction in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner
  • Strong focus on safety, including investigating, recording, and reporting to Supervision any incidents or near misses in a timely manner.
  • Competent in the review of project plans, schematic drawings and ensure that the project is built according to design
  • Sound knowledge of AS/NZ 3000, 3012 and mandatory test requirements
  • Good problem-solver with the capacity to be a critical thinker with a track record of completing jobs on time and on budget
  • Ability to read and understanding electrical Installation drawings and schematics
  • Ability to understand and apply relevant legislation and standards, codes of practice, industry agreements company standards and quality control
  • Ability to identify, plan and implement preventative maintenance activities
  • Strong communication skills including active listening and providing instruction to other crew members to complete projects within established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Installing and maintaining Electrical Equipment, Systems, and Devices

Quality, Workplace Health, Safety & Environment (QWHSE):

All GM ECM personnel are expected to use and comply with and actively support the implementation and maintenance of the GM ECM QWHSE Management System, at all times in their own work areas to ensure legislative compliance, compliance to relevant International and Australian Standards, to create and maintain safe and health workplaces free from harm. 

All GM ECM personnel will ensure they report all potential hazards, risks, unsafe work practices, unsafe conditions and incidents to their supervisor or manager as soon as possible, and in the event uncontactable, and where possible in a safe manner, to remove or fix the hazard. Further information can be obtained through your immediate reporting structure, and through the roles and responsibilities document which defines the QWHSE responsibilities that apply to your role level.

Training:

  • Training will be conducted to comply with GM ECM and client site requirements. All GM ECM personnel will ensure they actively participate in and complete all training as required within the defined timelines.
  • You must pass a National Police Check or have a copy of one no more than 12 months old;
  • Drug and alcohol check may also be undertaken;
  • You may be asked to provide certified copies of any relevant academic qualifications.
