Paraplanner/Associate Adviser (6-month contract with possibility of permanency)

About the business

Our company is a boutique financial planning/accounting practice based at Rocklea that has been providing quality financial and strategic advice and services to our clients since 2009.  

We are seeking a highly competent and proactive individual to join our team in the role of Paraplanner/Associate Adviser, to commence immediately.  Initially the role will be on a contract basis and may develop into a permanent role for the right person based on the needs of the business.
 

The Role

Reporting to the Director, the ideal candidate will have a background in the financial planning industry with a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience. Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the preparation of Statements of Advice and Records of Advice including:
    • Researching and developing strategies for clients
    • Investment selection and management
    • Insurance analysis
    • Superfund analysis
    • Centrelink updates
    • Administration relating to preparation and implementation of paperwork for clients
  • Managing the day to day client relationship and following through on client requests and ad-hoc client queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Liaising with fund managers, platform providers and accountants as required
  • Creating and updating templates in XPlan to improve workflow efficiencies
  • Maintain data feeds and mappings in XPlan
  • Assisting with integrating technology efficiencies to improve workflows and office procedures.
  • Other general administration duties as required

For the right candidate, there is the possibility of this role being converted to permanency.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years Financial Services experience including as a Client Service Officer and/or Paraplanner
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (or studying towards)
  • XPlan experience (essential)
  • A solid understanding of the development of strategies including superannuation, insurance, investments and retirement strategies
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • A passion for the financial planning industry with a proactive attitude towards the business
  • High attention to detail
