Procurement Officer

Civil contracting company in South West Sydney requires an experienced Procurement Officer to work in our sewer and water main department.

In this position, you will research and negotiate the best price and quality for our supply needs, with experience in sewer and water main installation or civil construction works. You will establish relationships with vendors and suppliers as well as track and monitor the delivery and confirmation of all materials and supplies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Source best prices for tender bid
  • Confirm materials required for project as per quotation take-offs
  • Work with Sewer & Water Manager and Supervisors to confirm materials required to suit program
  • Request quotes and compare prices
  • Source and procure with appropriate purchase order all materials and supplies
  • Track incoming inventory and delivery dates 
  • Ensure all deliveries contain all goods requested 
  • Create and maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Organise and update database of suppliers
  • Processing of invoices and purchase orders

Key requirements and experience

  • Solid experience and understanding of procurement processes and tender bidding 
  • Previous experience within sewer and water installation or civil construction works
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
