HSA is a truly local, registered NDIS provider. We are a non-government, for-purpose organisation operating in the Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast and Mt Morgan areas.
HSA originated as a local, grass-roots service through the work of people living in this community and driven by the needs of people living in this community and continues to operate under these principles today after 25 years of change and growth.

As a member of the Management Team and reporting to the CEO, this role will provide high level financial and business guidance, being responsible for all accounting operations. Accountable for all month end financial activities, including month-end and year-end process, financial reporting as well as all ATO requirements. This role will ensure the future growth of Home Support Association Inc by analysing key financial information, investigating opportunities and implementing fiscal strategies to optimise operational costs while supporting the growth of the business.
Our ideal candidate will have:
A member of a professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or CA ANZ.
Tertiary qualifications and extensive post graduate experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or a combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
Ability to identify, research and analyse, diverse, critical and developing issues at the strategic level while developing strategies, recommendations and alternatives in respect to the issues.
Detailed knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of statutory requirements applicable to HSA as well as policy, programs, guidelines, procedures and practices of both HSA Inc and applicable external bodies.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others in achieving outcomes and working effectively with all stakeholders to ensure accurate and relevant information is provided to the management team and relevant stakeholders.
Current C class drivers license.

In this role you will be:
Ensure compliance with relevant Government financial legislation and departmental policies and procedures in relation to financial reporting, budget and other corporate and operational issues.
Provide financial and business advice to management and staff on the not for profit sector and organisational/department policies, practices and procedures.
Contribute to the planning and development of operational and capital budgets, including forecasting depreciation, investments and financial modelling analysis while identifying the implications of emerging budget issues.
Contribute to the ongoing review and continuous improvement of systems, procedures, processes and refinement of analysis and reporting methods related to accounting, budgetary and associated financial functions, including performance indicators.
Developing, maintaining and reviewing the management reporting requirements for HSA, ensuring systems are established to provide appropriate costing and reporting.
Monitor the organisations fiscal capacity and financial condition, identifying opportunities and threats.
Identify, research and analyse critical and developing issues at the strategic level and develop strategies, recommendations and alternatives in respect to the issues
