Reporting to the Group Commercial Director; the Head of Commercial Australia & New Zealand will be responsible for the delivery of an optimum product offering by commercialising the range at local level, driving sales, gross margin and profitability.
The Head of Commercial Australia & New Zealand oversees three pivotal functions within the business; category management, buying and pricing. As the leader they are expected to develop and execute functional strategies based on localised customer insights.
In this role you will be expected to:
Deliver budgeted revenue, profit and margin for the Australia & New Zealand regions
Drive performance against category metrics for customers including average order frequency (AOF), average order value (AOV), inventory (stock turns, slow moving & obsolete stock, stock profile), suppliers (COGS) & own brand/private label share of business
Develop and evolve a customer orientated range aligned across the cross functional teams category, suppliers, inventory, pricing and E-Commerce
Product profit and loss accountability and prioritisation through effective demand management processes
Management, negotiation, implementation and monitoring of key local supplier agreements
Provide the required coaching to develop the Category & Buying Manager and Pricing Manager for the region
Process improvement continuously monitored and delivered
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
A proven track record and substantial leadership experience in a commercial role, incorporating category, buying and pricing functions
Experience in having a customer first mentality, where customer needs drive optimum product offering solutions
Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management experience
Strong commercial and business acumen
Leadership skills, mentoring, coaching
Ability to interact at all local and global levels
Ability to think strategically whilst also able to support shorter term product offering decision making
Exceptional analytical skills utilising data and insights to drive strategic decision making
Excellent time management, communication & decision making skills
Negotiation skills with a strong commercial and financial awareness
