Financial Accountant

This business is a medium sized company who are a leading provider of engineering services within manufacturing, construction, logistics and freight industry.  Due to a recent resignation they are seeking a hands-on financial accountant to join their team. Reporting to the GM of finance and administration, the main purpose of this role is to provide in depth knowledge in administrative, financial and accounting services to the organisation as a whole. You shall be working in a small team within the finance department. Your responsibilities will include;


  • Process Accruals, Prepayments and Month End journals

  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register and depreciation management

  • Inventory management and stock reconciliations

  • Manage Daily / Weekly / Monthly Reconciliation

  • Financial reporting; Profit and loss, Balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis

  • Statutory reporting and tax compliance; BAS, GST and FBTS

  • Manage company bank accounts, credit cards and doing reconciliations

  • Accounts payable and receivable duties

  • Run monthly and fortnightly payroll functions

  • Providing regular cashflow reports, budgets and forecasts

  • Job costing duties using their in-house system 

  • Support the development of systems, automation and streamline business processes

  • Data entry, administration work and any adhoc duties as requested by management


This position would suit someone who has experience in a similar role with a small business mindset. As the right candidate you;

  • Must have experience in stock transaction (Essential)

  • Have experience in the manufacturing industry and/or job costing (Desirable)

  • Possess tertiary qualifications, CPA/CA completed or near completion (Essential)

  • Have working knowledge of Pronto ERP system (Desirable)

  • Are well versed using MS suite with solid excel experience

  • Must be a rational thinker with an acute commercial awareness

  • Are proactive with a commendable work ethic and can take initiative in day to day tasks

  • Have impeccable communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Are deadline orientated and can work efficiently under pressure

  • Are organised, analytical with high attention to detail
