About the opportunity:
HomeStart has an exciting full-time opportunity for a motivated Senior Accountant to join our Finance Team for a 12 month maternity leave contract. Reporting to the Finance Leader, the Senior Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyse and report on financial information, including preparation of the statutory and management accounts and end of month processing. This position is also responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Finance Support Officers, as well as providing support to the Finance Leader on general financial and management accounting activities.
You have significant accounting experience (5 years plus) and relevant tertiary qualifications. You are a planner and know how to prioritise accordingly and have great attention to detail.
You will also have, amongst other things:
- CA or CPA qualification
- Strong reporting and presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong ability to analyse and communicate financial information
- Previous experience supervising an Accounts team
- Knowledge of current Australian accounting standards
