On behalf of our Client, we are seeking an experienced Accountant to help lead the Superannuation team in a permanent full-time capacity 

The Role: 

The role of Senior Superannuation Accountant is a critical one in our business and requires a proactive and engaging leader to manage and guide the superannuation team to achieve their goals and targets, along with ensuring our broad range of Clients self-managed superannuation fund management work for them.  

Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that all compliance including tax returns, Centrelink reporting, TBAR reporting, BAS reporting, valuation of assets in superannuation funds, Pension calculations and all compliance obligations are met;
  • Reviewing works completed by other team members and offering guidance and mentoring on a consistent basis;
  • Maintaining strong superannuation fund compliance within the guidelines of AFS licensing regime and communicating this with Clients, Partners and team members to mitigate risk in understanding the limits placed on the role by law.

The Candidate:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 2 years experience in a position of Leadership;
  • Exceptional communication skills;

  • A positive attitude and ability to work well with others
  • A strong work ethic and initiative
  • Commitment to further training and professional development

Your background: 

  • Experience with BGL360 or Class Super software would be an advantage 
  • 1 5 years' experience in a Financial Accounting practice, with some Leadership experience;
  • Degree qualified and working toward or preparing to work toward obtaining CPA status;
  • Strong skills preferably in Microsoft products, XERO, MYOB, QuickBooks, Virtual Cabinet, XPA and APS;
  • Ability to identify how to maximise Clients self-managed super funds for optimal results; and
  • Previous exposure to accounting and tax software.
