Administration Trainee

Centacare NENW is a leading provider of social and community services across the New England North West area.

Working as part of our team you will be involved in assisting with the day to day administration and program support.

The Administration Trainee forms part of a highly motivated team committed to a high level of client services. The position contributes to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of Centacare NENW and therefore requires an individual who is dedicated, willing to learn and with an ability to multi task.

This position will provide administrative support to Centacare NENW and its associated programs. To maintain efficient service delivery, provide general reception duties and assist staff to maintain an efficient service delivery.

Area of Key Responsibilities

Some key responsibilities of an Administration Trainee are but are not limited to the following:

  1. Act in a way that promotes the image of Centacare NENW by greeting clients/visitors, young people, families and carers, answering telephones, letters, and general client enquiries in a friendly and approachable manner.
  2. Assist visitors to access relevant information resources.
  3. Attend to general inquiries relating to Centacare NENW.
  4. Operate a busy reception area and transfer calls appropriately. Record and disseminate accurate and detailed messages when staff are not available to take incoming calls.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a range of people from young people to senior staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and programs.
  • Provide administrative services in a friendly, efficient and professional manner.
  • Well-developed liaison, oral and written communication skills.
  • Competent operation of office equipment including computer, printer, photocopier, fax and scanner
  • Competent use of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office products.
  • Commitment to ethical practices, confidentiality, WH&S and EEO principles.
