Ogilvie Jennings, an established Hobart Law firm is seeking an experienced Business Manager to join our team.

You will need to be highly motivated, have excellent organisational and time management skills, be able to work autonomously, have a positive 'can do' attitude, be able to focus on solutions, have great attention to detail and excellent verbal and communication skills.

Reporting directly to the Partners, the responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Financial and IT Management

  • Practice Management
  • Month end finance and accounting procedures, financial and taxation reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Processing of weekly payroll, superannuation, PAYG etc
  • Banking reconciliations
  • Accounts payable and receivable

HR management and administration

  • Recruitment, staff management, and performance management
  • General systems and procedures management
  • Office equipment maintenance

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Strong financial and management accounting experience
  • Demonstrated management, leadership and planning capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
