This progressive beef enterprise is straddling the border of the Northern Territory and Western Australia.  The property runs approximately 28,000 head of cattle, turning off steers and heifers for the northern live export market.  At the core of this business is a strong commitment to sustainable land management practises and animal welfare. 

 

Position 

 

This international investor is seeking an aspiring station manager who can transition to a higher leadership role in the near future. Actively supporting the current Station Manager in all day to day activities the Assistant Station Manager will drive the strategic development and management of the businesss property development program.  This role will accountable for ensuring all livestock operations, relevant reporting, and budgetary/financial requirements meet the companys high standard.

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Support in the leadership, management and development of staff 
  • Provide support managing the station operational budget 
  • Provide the highest standards of husbandry and animal welfare
  • Project management of capital works and improvements 
  • Assist in managing the breeding and genetics program

 

Skills and Experience  

 

  • Strong leadership and people management skills 
  • Commercial acumen and budgeting skills 
  • Ability to create an outcome focused culture
  • Extensive experience in breeding and cattle management
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Confidence with technology to drive innovation and efficiency 
  • Project management of development and capital works

 

Qualifications  

 

  • Post-secondary qualifications relating to agriculture or farm management desirable
  • Current ChemCert qualifications are required
  • Computer literacy 
  • First Aid training would be advantageous
  • HR or MC is highly desirable

 

Remuneration

An attractive remuneration package including a 3 bedroom home will be negotiated to reflect skills and experience.
