Reporting to the Director, Compliance, Risk and Information; the Coordinator Safety will be responsible for proactively managing health and safety risks, policy and safe work practices and procedures across the organisation. The role will provide strategic planning and operational leadership to provide a safe and health work environment for GOTAFE employees, students, contractors and visitors. A key component of this role is to positively influence internal stakeholders in establishing the strategic health and safety direction for GOTAFE and to drive a safety culture where employee safety, both physical and psychological, is at the forefront of decision making and behaviour.
The role will develop and implement the organisation's Occupational Health and Safety Strategy in compliance with relevant legislative frameworks.
To be considered for this opportunity, GOTAFE is seeking a self-motivated, innovative team player with detailed working knowledge of current Occupational Health and Safety legislative frameworks and requirements. You will have extensive experience in reviewing, developing and implementing best practice safety systems within an organisation; exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to maintain strong collaborative relationships with employees at all levels of the organisation to achieve improved health and safety targets and outcomes.
