Reporting to the Director, Asset Management and Facilities; the Project Officer will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of capital projects, ensuring that they are delivered within scope, on time and within the allocated budget. This includes facilitating project scope meetings and effectively liaising with project sponsors to provide detailed and up to date commentary in regards to project progress. The role will investigate, analyse and prepare technical reports related to project management; develop quotes and tender documentation and evaluation; ensure compliance with OH&S by consultants, contractors and subcontractors; monitor and take corrective action on the performance of contractors and subcontractors; and undertake effective, timely liaison and consultation with affected parties throughout each phase of the project lifecycle.
In addition the role will partner with internal stakeholders to provide technical input and support for capital project submissions and project management.
To be considered for this opportunity, GOTAFE is seeking a self-motivated, innovative team player with highly developed skills and abilities in the application of project management, contract management, and construction practices and techniques. This includes expertise in the development of quote and tender documentation, management of the tender evaluation process, supervision of the tender and associated contract administration. You will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills which will enable to you to communicate with peers about matters of technical complexity, engage and understand the requirements of clients, and clearly articulate this to a diverse audience to support strong collaborative internal and external stakeholder relationships. Furthermore, you will have detailed working knowledge of OH&S, Legislation, Codes of Practice, Building Regulations, Actors and Standards applicable to the Building Code of Australia and hold tertiary qualifications in Project Management or equivalent.
