We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to fulfil the position of Fabrication Workshop Supervisor. This individual needs to be experienced in all aspects of welding and have evidence of their trade qualification and team leading experience. This will be a full-time position, commencing on a 3-month trial basis before moving to permanent.
This position is a hands on role combined with management of the day to day workshop operations, administration but also sales, quoting and communicating with clients off site. We are looking for someone who has experience interacting with clients, is an effective communicator, who will be a positive team member and be independent in their work. The right candidate will be able to read technical drawings, have a current Drivers License and be able to problem solve. The applicant must be able to set priorities and delegate tasks to achieve strict delivery deadlines whilst ensuring the workshop runs smoothly and efficiently
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Direct supervision of workshop staff.
Technical support and direction to workshop employees.
Ensure staff are following all safety direction and procedures applicable to tasks being performed.
Planning and quoting jobs.
Liaise and deal with external suppliers.
Run pre-start meetings and plan daily activities for workshop staff
Mentoring and training apprentices and staff.
Develop processes to improve productivity, safety and reduce cost.
Monitor procedure and task for risk reduction and safety improvements
Lead by example with safety and work ethics.
Ensure all documentation for jobs is completed, sign off and filed appropriately
Ensure flow of communication between factory staff, office staff, sales and customers.
Position Start Date January 2020, This is not a FIFO or DIDO position, the successful applicant must reside in Esperance at the commencement of the contract
Remuneration and benefits $90k - $110k to be discussed at interview
