EMS is currently seeking an experienced Workshop Mechanical Supervisor and Mechanical Fitter to join our diverse and growing team !!

Our workshop is primarily focused in the underground coal mining and conveyors sectors. We offer engineering design and fabrication, underground mining equipment repairs, construction services, consumables supply and site-based labour for both large and small projects.
Based from our Paget Workshop and reporting directly to our Workshop Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the daily operation of our busy workshop. You will be responsible for motivating and leading the workshop team to ensure assigned work conforms to quality, time and productivity requirements.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Leading, supervision, motivation and training of the workshop team
Job allocation and job flow in the workshop including labour allocation for day to day operations
Planning and turnaround of repairables
Effectively managing the time of workshop team
Effective communication of daily tasks and requirements
Checking quality of work/repairs prior to return to clients
Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and that documentation is completed on time
Asset management and maintenance
Troubleshooting, diagnostic and preventative maintenance
Maintain quality relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Assisting Workshop Operations Manager with quotes and estimation of repairables and sales items
Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experience;
Trade qualified preferably Fitter Turner or Fitter Welder or equivalent
A mechanical trade background with experience in heavy equipment / mining equipment and hydraulics
Minimum of 3-5 years in a similar leading role
Ability to interpret schematics / drawings
Excellent analytical, problem solving, negotiation, leadership and time management skills
The ability to plan, prioritise and lead a team
Effective prioritisation, reprioritisation and time efficiency skills
Commitment to workplace safety and sound knowledge of WHS practices
Effective communication skills
Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook etc
ERP exposure such as MYOB and or SAP
Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Experience in repairs and refurbishment of underground, QDS, conveyor and associated equipment
Pneumatic Tooling Overhauls
Hydraulic Equipment fault finding and overhauls
Maintenance manual and drawing interpretation
Final test and commissioning
Commitment to quality control and safety
The ability to plan, prioritise and reprioritise workload
Effective communication, computer, literacy and writing skills
Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Conveyor experience will be viewed favourably
