ALPA is seeking to employ a versatile business minded Mechanic to work in Ramingining, a large remote community in North East Arnhem Land NT.

As a Mechanic at the workshop, this integral role is responsible for delivering high quality workmanship in the repair and maintenance of mechanical vehicles and plant, ensuring that all work is completed within the designated time frame and to quality and safety standards.

Experience is required in the following:

  • Working on 4x4's, trucks, and plant undertaking all repairs, rebuilds and diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and engine management faults etc.
  • Working on a wide range of makes and models and equipment types.
  • Assistance with Job Costing, quoting, and scheduling.
  • Working with trainees and apprentices.
  • Air conditioning knowledge is preferable.

Requirements:

  • Trade Qualifications for Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent
  • Have a C' class driver's license, with capacity and willingness to obtain a HR License
  • Ability to obtain an Approved Inspection License from the Motor Vehicle Registry
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Business minded, quality and productivity focused
  • Understanding of working in a community environment
  • Strong auto electrics knowledge
