We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Procurement team in Castlemaine, where we are “proudly making meat even better”!

About The Job
Reporting to the Procurement & Inbound Supply Chain Manager, this Procurement Specialist will assist the with the development of category strategies for Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Corporate. 
Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the execution and implementation of procurement initiatives working directly with key stakeholders on cost improvement, category/material optimisation & spend reduction
  • Supporting negotiations with key suppliers ensuring risks are identified and managed
  • Executing robust supplier management / supplier relationship management processes to deliver incremental value to the businesses
  • Continuous improvement through best practice bench-marking & the deployment of latest Procurement tools and techniques.


About You
We’re not necessarily looking for a ready-made “Procurement Specialist” to fill this job. If the below any of the below sounds like you, please get in touch.

  • Degree or equivalent (ideally in Business or Business/Finance, food science)
  • Prepared to study towards professional membership of CIPSA
  • Ideally 2-5 years in the Food Industry – not essential
  • Ideally 2 years Procurement experience but the role is also considered to be an entry level position for the right person looking to develop a career in Procurement
  • Some experience of managing negotiations and basic contract law
  • Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to mix professionally and build effective relationships at all levels internally and externally
  • Able to provide insight and quickly identify a way forward when presented with issues
  • Proven experience identifying and deploying process improvements
  • Demonstrated resilience and ability to quickly engage with change
