The Hunter Valley Coal Chain Coordinator (HVCCC) is a member funded, independent, one-of-its-kind logistics organisation that coordinates the planning, scheduling and operational execution of the Hunter Valley Coal Chain. Through its unique end-to-end system view, HVCCC provides members with insights, advice and analysis to improve efficiency and maximise their value from the shared infrastructure of the Hunter Valley Coal Chain.
The role of Assistant Accountant, reporting to the Financial Controller, will assist in the delivery of timely, accurate and quality financial information and services to the Senior Leadership Team, HVCCC Board and Committees, including other internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
Month-end procedures carried out in a timely manner
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentations
Ensuring payroll transactions are processed accurately and efficiently
Support the budgeting and forecasting process as required
Vendor payments and reconciliations
Regular analysis of revenue and expense
Assisting with compliance reporting including, BAS, payroll tax and superannuation
Assisting with the preparation of financial reporting requirements
Ad hoc tasks assisting the wider organisation
Tertiary accounting qualification and working towards CPA/CA
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
Experience in assisting with financial system improvement projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate efficiently at all levels
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team
Able to show initiative and be a self-starter
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision desirable
