Bus Driver Position Permanent Part-Time Position

Broughton Anglican College is committed to the safe and efficient transport of students. The service will include both daily runs to and from the College and also some sport and excursion transport. Broughton Anglican College Bus Service is the service provided by the College using the buses owned or leased by the College.
As the College is a child safe organisation, the successful candidate will be required to provide their current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) number and date of birth so that the College can verify the candidates WWCC status, as required by Child Protection legislation, prior to a final offer of appointment being made.
The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence that they are an active member of a Bible-based church.
A committed Christian who will provide opportunities for students to develop an understanding of the Christian Faith and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in adhering to the Christian stance and ethos of the College.

Qualifications and Experience Required
Minimum age 25 years.
Drivers licence class LR or higher (HR for the current Mercedes Bus).
Not been suspended or disqualified from driving in the last ten years (RMS printout required).
Current senior first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to commencing duties).
Good interpersonal skills.
Reference from current Minister of Religion or details of a Minister who may be contacted as a referee.
Must have a current Working with Children Check Number for Paid Employees and supply this and your date of birth for verification of WWCC status.
Available to participate in on-the-job and external training relevant to the position.
Operate the school bus in a safe and effective manner in order to minimise the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
Perform a safety check at the beginning of each shift.
Follow set bus route. If this is not possible due to road closures etc. follow the route as close as possible to the set route.
Pick up and deliver students as per a set schedule.
Take attendance on the school bus.
Maintain order and ensure the safety of passengers.
Ensure students are aware of the rules and responsibilities as passengers.
Make note of any behavioural or disciplinary problems.
Clean inside of bus (and outside if necessary) at the end of the shift.
Ensure the bus is safely and securely stored.
Refuel the bus as required.
Wash the bus as required.
Report any faults, problems or damage promptly.
Drive bus to / from maintenance as required.
Undertake extra shifts if required in an emergency.
Experience driving buses for at least one year.
Experience working with children aged 4 to 10 years.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including during the day and weekends for sport / excursions.
Relevant mechanical knowledge and experience.
Work Health and Safety (WHS)
Accept responsibility for personal safety, be pro-active and understand work health and safety requirements as they relate to the position.
Ensure safety equipment is worn when required.
Use safe work practices.
Report safety hazards and incidents promptly.
Takes reasonable care for the health and safety of all children and staff within their care.
Cooperates with the College as far as is necessary to ensure the College can maintain a safe work place.
Notifies the College of any matter to ensure that it maintains a safe workplace.
Details of Employment
This position is responsible directly to the Property Manager on behalf of the Headmaster.
This position involves a 4 hour split shift commencing 6.30 am to 8.30 am and 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday during school terms. Opportunities for additional casual hours during the school day and in the vacation period may be available.
This position is a permanent part-time position.
The College Bus Driver will be paid for four weeks annual leave per year to be taken during the December - January vacation period. The College Bus Driver will be stood down for the remaining holiday periods.
The successful candidates remuneration will be for a Level 2 Bus Driver under the Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2015-2017. The College will pay your salary in equal fortnightly instalments by electronic funds transfer into your nominated bank or building society account after deduction of all taxes and levies.
