As part of the worlds largest supplier of secure vehicle identification solutions this company manufacture products and provide technologies that support government with high performance solutions enabling efficient road transport systems. This business has been the principal product supplier within Australia and New Zealand for more than 60 years and we are now seeking a talented production manager to run the NSW factory located in Wetherill Park.

In this newly created role, reporting to the Area Business Unit Manager in NSW, you will be tasked with managing a team of twenty-five staff across production and dispatch and be responsible for:
Production, including materials, labour, OEE performance and costs
Maintenance of all plant and equipment
Raw materials, stock levels and new product trials
Recruiting, training, managing performance and up-skilling operators
Quality systems ISO9001 and AS4801 and updating SOPs
Championing LEAN processes
Ensuring a safety-first culture initiating and maintaining good WH&S practices and rehabilitation programs are initiated and maintained across the site
Efficient distribution practices that meet the rigorous demands of the State contract.
You would describe yourself as a production manager that has acquired good manufacturing principles and disciplines to manage plant performance, costs, quality and sufficient yield and labour to deliver all manufactured products on time in full for the customer.
Standard costing, BOMs, Routes and Production Schedules are second nature. You have good ERP and excel skills and are used to completing variance analysis production reports so you can identify areas for improvements that meet global manufacturing benchmarks. Above all you are an inspirational leader that can engage teams and you like leading from the front foot with a critical eye on the day-to-day production as well as putting good plans in place that anticipate customer and company future requirements.
This role will suit a proactive manager with great people management skills who likes taking total ownership of improvement projects. To be successful in this role you have completed a degree in mechanical engineering and have at least five years postgraduate experience managing a multi-disciplinary manufacturing business where you have been responsible for production quality to ISO9001, plant and equipment, workplace health and safety and leading teams to achieve great outcomes. .
This is a complex business that requires an analytical, detailed and process driven thinker with a high level of problem solving and communication skills that can prioritise workloads, meet strict deadlines and targets.
