About the role
Play a pivotal role in shaping the future of flourishing environments, economies and communities in NSW. We are proud to be recruiting for our newly created opportunity within the EPA. This role leads the Regulatory Practice and Advice Division in the development and implementation of regulatory strategies, to build organisational and individual capability in modern environmental regulation. The division is also responsible for providing technical advice to operational teams to protect human health and the environment.
The Executive Director Regulatory Practice and Advice will provide expert advice to the Chief Executive Officer and divisional executives in relation to regulatory practice, emerging environmental issues of concern, areas for reform and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will drive the high- level and strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer, the EPA Board and the Minister on the future direction of protecting the environment and human health and the regulation of industry, including regulatory reform and a risk management approach required to optimise environmental outcomes.
This is a high impact role where you will work closely to build strong and established working relationships within the business and also with external key stakeholders.
Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience are key to success in this position coupled with extensive knowledge and experience of regulatory practice in a government context and demonstrated experience in leading reform, preferably in a regulatory environment.
A proven track record in building relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders will be advantageous, coupled with exceptional communication skills.
