The Walshe Group is General Sales Agent (GSA) for Delta Air Lines in Australia.  In 2019, Delta was named in Fortune's top 50 Most Admired Companies. Delta Air Lines serves in excess of 180 million customers each year.

The Walshe Group is looking to appoint an experienced and dynamic National Account Manager preferably with previous airline sales experience.

About the role

The role of National Account Manager is responsible for business development and sales strategies for a mixed portfolio of retail, corporate and wholesale brands.

Additionally the role is required to work in close cooperation with the sales team at Virgin Australia as part of Delta Air Lines and Virgin Australia's Joint Venture partnership.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Develop a sales call and action plan to best maximise revenue opportunities within the portfolio
• Monitor account performance
• Data and revenue analysis through the use of various reporting tools
• Make recommendations for best use of marketing funds
• Deliver a professional and informative sales message 
• Assist with the negotiation of contractual agreements
• Cooperate in activity with joint venture partners
• Coordinate and participate in industry events, expos and activities

Skills and experience

• Minimum 3-5 years in field sales in the airline industry ideally with experience in both the retail and corporate sector.
• First hand knowledge of the travel trade sector and distribution in Australia.
• First rate communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• To have a genuine passion for sales and business development.
• Demonstrate flexibility to meet the varying demands of the role.
• A high level of energy and drive.
• Regular interstate and international travel will be required.
