CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Our client, Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation (NAC) is the registered native title body corporate which holds and manages the native title rights and interests on behalf of the Ngarluma people. NAC land, sea and waterways cover some 25,000sq km with an extraordinary level of geographic and environmental diversity.

Located in the coastal town of Karratha, in the resource rich Pilbara region of Western Australia, NAC is seeking an  experienced and driven Chief Financial Officer to lead the Financial, Planning, Funding and Risk Management areas of the Corporation.

The Role

Working directly with the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer will provide excellent financial governance, advice and leadership to the business.  Additionally, it is expected that the CFO will provide input and support in the development of the business interests and vision for Ngarluma people.

Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting area
  • Oversee and prepare all aspects of financial  reporting in line with Corporation requirements
  • Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO/Board and members of the executive management team
  • Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting
  • Advising on short-term and long-term business and financial planning matters
  • Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders
  • Reviewing all formal finance related procedures for the company
  • Understanding of governance and accountabilities relevant to a membership-based organisation (PBC) 
  • Experience in Indiginous Corporations, cultural sensitive and community relations. 

The Person

  • Undergrade qualifications in Accounting or commerce related field essential.
  • CPA or postgraduate qualifications in business or finance
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in a senior Financial role with proven success
  • Strong attention to detail

The successful applicant will be subject to National Police and Bankruptcy Clearances and must hold current drivers license.
