The successful applicant for the role of mechanic will be based in Leongatha and ensure ongoing maintenance and repairs are carried out across all Council plant and equipment. This role is part of a small team and enjoys a well stocked workshop and working with regularly updated plant. You will be comfortable with diagnosing causes of faults and preventative maintenance needs, and be able to plan the work through identifying parts and labour required, ordering and complete the repairs / maintenance with minimal supervision to ensure successful completion.
The range of plant and equipment varies from small engines, utlities, trucks and earth moving equipment such as graders and excavators. You will have a safety orientated mindset at all times, being able to identify and report any safety concerns in a timely manner.
This role is full time and ongoing after an initial 6 months probationary period. Fortnightly RDOs are available and the starting salary is $62,735 per annum plus super and leave loading.
