About The Company Established in 1888, Jumbuck are a fourth generation Australian business with 13 large scale sheep and cattle stations across Australia. Head office is based in Adelaide.
In South Australia we have 6 large scale properties: 4 in the north west area in the Coober Pedy / Glendambo region (Bulgunnia, Commonwealth Hill, Mobella and Mulgathing) and 2 in the Yunta area (McCoys Well and Mount Victor).
About The Jobs We currently have permanent, full-time opportunities to join Jumbuck as a Station Hand at Mulgathing and Mobella. These are live in positions with accommodation available in air-conditioned single-person quarters with wifi and meals on site. Our management team is experienced and capable; both of running a property, setting the livestock program along with mentoring and training of staff meaning plenty of career development opportunities exist.
As these stations are in remote and isolated regions, an appreciation for Outback living is essential!
So What Will I Be Doing Working on a station is varied. The main tasks you will be responsible for, but not limited to, include:
Caring for livestock
Mustering livestock on 2-wheel motorbikes (provided) with aerial support
Maintenance and repair of station equipment such as vehicles, motorbikes and other machinery
Inspecting, repairing or replacing fences, gates and yards
Monitoring of watering points across the property
What Experience Will I Need We are looking to employ those who see a long-term career ahead of them in the pastoral industry. If you have been through Agricultural College, grew up on a family farm or have had experience working on a farm or even coming from another station but are seeking a career opportunity, we would like to hear from you!
Livestock experience is a plus along with mechanical or trade knowledge. It will be expected you will have experience riding 2-wheel motorbikes.
