There is a vacancy for a permanent position of Customer Service Officer, based at West Leederville or alternate metro location.

The role Customer Service Officer (37.5hrs wk).

The Customer Service Officer (CSO) is the initial contact person for people accessing the Redress Support Service and the Disability Royal Commission Counselling Service. The CSO engages warmly over the phone and in person greeting people attending the premises. Of a compassionate disposition the CSO is able to engage with people of various emotional states and a range communication abilities. This position requires someone who is professional and accurate, taking messages, making appointments, directing calls and providing basic information. The CSO functions as a valuable team member, providing admin support to other staff, and maintaining records and updating client databases.

Able to demonstrate:


  • Administration/customer service experience in a similar position.         
  • Advanced skills in MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.  Intermediate to advanced     level skills in Database operations.      
  • Strong keyboarding skills and typing speed. 
  • Ability to work in a client oriented environment.
  • Ability to co-ordinate schedules and diaries. 
  • Administrative skills, including record keeping, reporting, cash handling.
  • Reception skills, including the ability to answer telephone calls in a polite and efficient manner      
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with, and empathy for a diverse client base          
  • Proven interpersonal skills, incorporating both written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently


  • Ability to train colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative within scope of work area.         
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of trauma informed practice
