As Chobani enters an exciting period of growth and change, the opportunity for a Head of Category has arisen due to a positive structural change. This role forms a critical position supporting the SLT in the overall development of and leadership of the category.
Reporting to the General Manager – Sales & Category, The Head of Category will play an integral role ensuring that the Sales & Marketing teams are building insight & data-based strategies to execute with Chobani’s key customers. Working cross functionally and leading a team of 2, you will be a key leader in driving collaboration & stronger business outcomes that are delivered in an actionable way for Chobani’s key partners. This role will be required to lead the category team, spanning and will lead the conversion around actions that assist & deliver the volume and profit targets of the Chobani business.
The Head of Category is accountable for setting the business direction for category & shopper marketing across all major channels & brands. The Head of Category is also accountable for delivering the overall category strategy across all major channels for all brands and demonstrate an ability to “level up” across all aspects of the role and the Chobani business. This includes keeping category growth drivers live & relevant within the business to help shape a clear business focus cross-functionally that can drive actionable outcomes with Chobani consumers and customers. This agile leader will category lead to deliver a customer centric organisation and have a major focus on “relationship building”. This person will embed behaviours & build a team of customer category & shopper experts who play a key role in building lasting relationships across all customer partners. This will be evident in a style that coach’s and develops the category team to ensure clarity of purpose and deliverables to business partners.
Skills & Experience
A proven leader within the field of Category, Shopper and Marketing Insights
Demonstrate a strong background in FMCG or Grocery
Thorough understanding of Category Management and Shopper Marketing
A courageous leader who builds trusting partnerships and unlocks talent
A strategist, influencer and collaborator
Degree qualified or equivalent in a Business or Marketing discipline
Coach and develop Category Team to ensure clarity of purpose and deliverables to business partners
Minimum 10 years’ experience in a FMCG environment
Demonstrated experience in a leading a portfolio and category strategy development and translate into activation, and ideally proven experience taking a category from decline into growth.
