Wilmar Sugar Australia is the nation's largest sugar producer and a major provider of renewable electricity and BioEthanol. Our joint ventures, Sugar Australia and New Zealand Sugar, market a range of sugar and sweetener products under the familiar brands CSR, Chelsea and Equal.
As part of Wilmar Sugar Australia, Wilmar BioEthanol is Australia's largest manufacturer and distributor of sugarcane-based ethanol products. We produce 60 million litres of ethanol a year and have leading positions in Australia's e10 fuel, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and industrial markets.
The BioEthanol business also has a significant and growing trading arm where a wide range of industrial chemicals and solvents, oleochemicals, non-sugar sweeteners, specialty food ingredients and process chemicals are imported and sold through a number of warehousing locations or direct to the end customer.
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Supply Planner to join the BioEthanol team within Wilmar BioEthanol Pty Ltd in a newly created role to meet the growing needs of the trading arm of this business.
This position will be based in Yarraville, Melbourne and reports to the Logistics Manager. The Supply Planner role will be an essential part of the logistics team and will ensure that the products and materials sourced from overseas suppliers are available for sale to customers in the trading business and are in line with sales forecasts and agreed stock levels and in the right location.
Key aspects of the role will include but not be limited to:
Supply planning of 60+ products and over 100 SKUs sourced from a range of international suppliers and manufacturers
Confirmation and tracking of all purchase contracts keeping all stakeholders informed in real time.
Support the product management and logistic teams on all product life cycle related issues, including new product launches, grade transitions and end of life occurrences in order to ensure product availability and reduce the likeliness of obsolete inventory.
Maintain accurate material master, vendor master and purchasing planning within SAP.
A clear working knowledge and understanding of international supply chains and processes.
Running a series of S&OP processes for product groups and suppliers.
Monitor daily sales and customer demand variations whilst taking appropriate action to address customer service/inventory risks.
Ensure stocktakes are undertaken and variances are investigated and resolved.
Understand and incorporate business planning and long terms strategies in forecast models.
Effective communication and stakeholder management with product managers, sales, customer service, operations and logistics teams and suppliers is critical
Strong attention to detail and an ability to problem solve in a proactive manner
Minimum of 5 years supply planning / inventory planning experience with previous exposure to the chemicals industry an advantage.
Understanding and demonstrable experience in the implementation and ongoing utilisation of Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) processes
Demonstrated capability to work across functions and develop business relationships with key stakeholders
Well-developed communication, influencing and negotiating skills
Experience in SAP, MRP and inventory management
Highly developed PC literacy skills - in particular Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and planning skills with the capability to meet tight deadlines
Tertiary qualification in materials management, supply planning preferred.
