BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Clifford Park Racecourse is the largest racing centre on the Darling Downs conducting weekly race meetings on the grass racing surface.  Home of the iconic Toowoomba Turf Club, Clifford Park not only operates as a renowned horse racing facility and training centre, but has developed its reputation as a premier destination for functions and events.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Business Development Manager forms part of the management team and is responsible for the strategic growth and development of key income streams including sponsorship, memberships and major events. The Business Development Manager will also oversee the organisations marketing, communications and community engagement activities to ensure a consistent brand message is delivered.

Duties include:

  • Development and implementation of sales, marketing and community growth strategies in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer
  • Management of the TTCs corporate partnership network
  • Management of all marketing and communication activities
  • Maximisation of public relations opportunities to further develop the organisations reputation within the local and wider communities
  • Effective leadership of the Business Development Department, including day to day management of a marketing resource.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Public Relations or other business-related field;
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a sales or product development role;
  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing strategy development and implementation;
  • Proven ability to meet stated key performance indicators and sales targets;
  • Demonstrated ability to source and develop successful business partnerships with clients and stakeholders;
  • Experience coordinating and promoting major functions and events;
  • High-level interpersonal, communication and time management skills;
  • Proven customer service focus; and
  • Racing industry knowledge and experience desirable, but not essential.

 

This position is a full-time salaried role, working 40 hours per week.  Saturday work is essential. Flexible hours and a great salary are on offer for the right candidate.
