Business Development Manager - Industrial Electrical/Automation

Colterlec are a leading national distributor of industrial electrical/automation/networking/sensing products, with a strong technical support capability. We represent a number of premium product brands from our global and national partners.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced sales professional to join our friendly and dedicated Victorian team, based in our modern Scoresby office, who are experiencing an exciting growth phase.

Reporting to the state sales manager, the objective of your role will be to increase sales revenue and profitability, through your account management and business development activities. You will be focusing on day to day and project related business, in industries including manufacturing, food and beverage, infrastructure, engineering and utilities.

Your customer base will include end users, switchboard builders, electrical contractors, OEM's and systems integrators. This is an autonomous role where you will spend a large portion of your time on the road, mainly within the metropolitan region, with some regional travel required.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Service, maintain and further develop existing accounts
  • Identify and secure new accounts
  • Regular interaction with our valued suppliers including joint calls
  • Develop and secure business through providing a solutions approach
  • Uncover and win project-based opportunities
  • Product demonstrations and presentations
  • Utilise Salesforce CRM

Skills and Experience

To be successful in the role, you will have a strong external sales background (preferably industrial electrical/automation), with a minimum 2 years' experience in Victoria. You will be highly self-motivated with a desire to succeed and possess a positive attitude, strategic approach and team focus. You will have a proven ability to plan and manage your time effectively, complimented with a professional attitude and ability to build strong relationships.
