Town Crew General Hand / Plant Operator

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced, reliable and trustworthy person to join the Shires works crew on a casual basis for approximately 6 weeks, commencing 13 January 2020.
The role requires someone to:
Maintain and upgrade facilities and assets within the town site of York to the highest possible quality, which include, cleaning, re-gassing and repairs to barbecues, bin installation and repairs, inspection and cleaning of toilet blocks inspection and making safe play equipment, road patching, footpath construction, repairs and sweeping, drainage construction and repairs, street tree pruning for long term tree health and weed eradication
Traffic management set out and operations
Hazard assessment, provide solutions and initiate actions
Play a support role for the Construction and Maintenance Crew for traffic control
Understand and adhere to all occupational health and safety legislation, policies, procedures and product usage instructions
Work proactively and willingly under supervision of the Town Crew - Leading Hand

A national police clearance and pre-employment medical will be required prior to employment. All Shire positions are subject to a three-month probation period.
