An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Generation Team based at our Cockburn Power Station on a full-time permanent staff basis. Reporting to the Sustainable and Business Services Manager, The GTDG Outage Planner’s main priority will be to provide overall governance of the GTDG outage framework.

In conjunction with the outage leader, you will also be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, resourcing and monitoring through the complete outage cycle to enable maintenance, operational and contract work to be completed safely, on time and to budget where accountable under the outage framework. 

More about the role

  • Actively lead, plan and coordinate GTDG resources to comply with the outage plan and framework gates
  • Maintain detailed two-year rolling outage plan and schedule updated quarterly or more frequently as required
  • Maintain visual management boards to effectively communicate outage plan schedule
  • Collate outage scope and create high level SAP work packages in liaison with GTDG subject matter experts, and identify detailed planning scope for specific outage planners
  • Investigate and review work notifications, maintenance tasks/plans, Preventative & Corrective maintenance work, engineering Inspections and projects to create outage work lists
  • Provide, monitor and report on overall framework governance
  • Develop and set up SAP project and work breakdown structures
  • Drive continuous improvement loops to improve the quality of data
  • Monitor outage close out time confirmation uploads and reports are completed
  • Ensure alignment between outage framework and SAP outage blueprint

 About you

Essential –  

  • Trade qualification or Engineering diploma together with relevant practical experience working in a trade/technical capacity within the power industry
  • A. Driver’s Licence Class “C”
  • 6 – 8 years’ experience in a commercial environment.
  • Sound proficiency in maintenance planning and scheduling tools. (SAP/Microsoft packages)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance procedures and practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Assurance standards and practices.
  • Sound contract management procedures and practices.

Desirable - 

  • Completed or working towards a relevant Frontline Management qualification
