Mt Binga Outdoor Education centre specialises in month long residential programs for groups in Years 9 and 10. Programs include abseiling, rock climbing, high ropes, horse riding, archery, farm activities, hiking and camping, along with many other activities in line with the focus of the Centre. Immanuel Lutheran College has managerial rights over the site and management is carried out by the Immanuel Lutheran College Council through the Principal of the College.The main goal of the outdoor education program is that students experience community living and grow in their own self-sufficiency and confidence in who they are.
Applications are invited for the part-time (3-days per week) Maintenance Officer two-year contract position commencing in January 2020.
Requirements of the Positions:
Applicants must uphold and support the Christian ethos of the College and Centre
Ensure that activities comply with all relevant internal and external policies, procedures and reporting requirements;
Possess a current Suitability Blue Card from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian for working with children;
Be willing to give out of hours service to this position as required;
Hold current Senior First Aid certificate
Maintain facilities used in programs, such as high ropes, initiatives and other equipment in consultation with relevant industry professionals and the Operations Manager
Manage the water resources available for Centre use
Oversee the general grounds and facilities maintenance across the Mt Binga Campus
Oversee the maintenance schedule for all Mt Binga Vehicles and other power tools
Manage the upkeep and maintenance of the campus workshop and use of Mt Binga tools
Participate in the care and management of the Mt Binga animals. This may include but not limited to feeding, milking, dispensing and scheduling medication, ordering feed and liaising with the vet etc.
