Applications are invited from persons suitably skilled to fill the above vacancy at the Electorate Office of Hon. Adele Farina MLC, Member for the South West Region.
The Electorate Officer provides the initial point of contact for all constituent enquiries and follows up through researching information, liaising with relevant parties, making appointments, drafting correspondence and generally advocating on behalf of constituents. Other duties include coordinating the Members community newsletter, organising functions and meetings and general management of the office.
Highly developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Office management skills including the ability to maintain a records system and information databases
Advanced Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and internet research skills
Ability to handle stressful and conflict situations
Good understanding of issues in the South West region
Experience in office administration and Personal Assistant duties
Knowledge of Government and Parliamentary procedures
The position is offered under the Electorate and Research Employees CSA General Agreement 2017. This full time position is subject to a six (6) month probationary period, with the appointment being for the Term of the Member.
