The City of Whitehorse covers an area of 64 square kilometres and employs over 1000 people. The City provides more than 100 quality services including infrastructure planning and building, asset maintenance, facilities management and economic development. It is a dynamic and ambitious organisation within a municipality that is enjoying sustained growth.
Reporting to the Project Director, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the entire project lifecycle including concept development, stakeholder consultation, tender documentation, contract administration, works supervision and handover of a new performing arts centre to replace the existing Whitehorse Centre. To achieve this outcome, the Senior Project Manager will need to work in a highly collaborative manner with a range of internal and external stakeholders and small team of project delivery professionals. The appointee will have responsibility for project reporting, procurement and ensure the project remains within the project parameters and within budget.
Tertiary qualified in architecture, building design or equivalent with extensive experience in construction project management of major building projects valued at or over $20M. You understand success in this role will leverage your deep understanding of public sector procurement systems and processes. You are naturally consultative and engaging with outstanding communication, influencing and negotiations skills. As a seasoned professional you have an eye for detail with the ability to work in complex environments that have required you to build effective and productive relationships. Local or state government or similar experience will be of benefit but not a requirement.
