The Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) is the professional institution and industry association for Risk Managers in the Asia Pacific region.  RMIA facilitates linkages between Members and offers continuing professional development opportunities via our annual National Conference, Risk Odyssey Conferences, Best Practice Guides, Special Interest Groups, Chapter networking events and Education programs.

This role is fundamental to ensuring that members feel well connected to the institute and the delivery of services to them aligns consistently with our purpose.  As a Not For Profit, you will have a strong sense of urgency around membership retention and consistent growth of new memberships.

Key Accountabilities for the Role

  • Providing prompt and accurate responses and information to all membership enquiries, whilst maintaining a regular rhythm of member outreach.
  • Develop and implement strategies for retention of existing members and recruitment and cultivation of new members, including the creation of new member benefits and regular solicitation of member feedback.  This would include the development and documentation of an overarching membership strategy for RMIA.
  • Support the RMIA CEO with the development and provision of detailed and insightful monthly reporting on membership activity, inclusive of status of execution against the membership strategy. 
  • Diligently maintain the CRM database for all membership details, ensuring that member records are accurate and complete.  Support other RMIA staff and RMIA Chapter Presidents for leveraging the membership database to undertake various marketing and event management activities for members. 

To be successful in this role you will have;

  • At minimum 3-5 Years experience in a similar role and preferably with a professional services institute.
  • Previous sales and services experience along with a great attitude being key.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a Membership Strategy which supports the organisations purpose and focuses on membership retention and growth strategies.
  • Exceptional organisational and administration skills.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint) with previous experience in working with a Customer/Member Relationship Management database tool.
  • Highly motivated an acute sense of urgency.
  • A high attention to detail.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills along with being an exceptional conversationalist (but even better listener) with a warm, friendly phone manner.
  • Confident, engaging & compelling communicator skills.
  • Some level of understanding into the profession of Risk Management or a highly demonstrable willingness to learn the fundamentals of this profession.  Within this, also demonstrate a level of passion around the Risk Management profession.
