Events and Marketing Officer

Bethany Community Support has been in operation for over 150 years and has supported individuals within the community through a number of programs. We have a broad range of programs which:

Introduction to role

Bethany is excited to advertise for the role of Events and Marketing Officer. This position is a full-time 12 month (maternity leave) position and will be reporting to the Communications and Marketing Co-ordinator. The core purpose of this role is to lead and manage the delivery of Bethanys annual events calendar (including the Bethany Superhero Awards and Bethany Giving Tree Appeal), along with assisting the delivery of Bethanys digital and social media communications, and other marketing materials as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver and measure the impact of Bethanys annual events calendar including Bethany Superhero Awards, Bethany Arthouse Film Festival (Warrnambool), Bethany Giving Tree Appeal, key Bethany stakeholder functions and other events

  • Produce and manage events end-to-end, including event briefs and plans, budget management, stakeholder liaison (internal and external), venue, AV and talent liaison, volunteer recruitment (if required for events), and all administrative tasks related to delivery of events (some out of hours work is required)
  • Prepare high quality written material for a variety of channels, including assisting with the delivery of Bethanys digital and social media communications and other publications and marketing materials, as required
  • Manage databases, mail-outs and communication to Bethany stakeholders

Skills and Attributes:

A tertiary qualification in PR, marketing, communications or events and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role

  • Strong background and experience managing corporate and consumer events, in a corporate, government or medium sized business
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, and advanced written and oral communication
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills
  • Keen eye for detail
