Business Development Lead

Working closely across the Design, Digital and Manufacturing divisions and as an integral part of the global business development team, this newly created position offers an exciting opportunity for an accomplished professional with a strong mix of sales ability and commercial nous to develop new business and grow the current portfolio with existing local and international clients. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for developing growth strategies and plans to increase client base aligned to the company strategy and sustainable profitability
  • Identifying, evaluating and leading the growth of a pipeline of business opportunities
  • Building, retaining and managing strategic relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of company products and having the ability to converse with clients around technology, assay, process and chemistry
  • Maintaining commercial awareness of both the clients business and industry trends
  • Effectively briefing internal teams on all account proposals
  • Responsibility for leading and driving the end to end sales process and defining the conversion strategy for each account
  • Pitching and preparing bid responses and sales presentations to win new business
  • Leading negotiations on terms of business and pricing to achieve revenue and profit growth targets
  • Leading and securing strategic partnership initiatives with businesses that will enable ongoing cross divisional opportunities
  • Coaching and developing sales capability in the broader team

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Extensive experience in a senior business development or sales function across industries such as Health, Utilities and Technology
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital health IoT solutions and experience working with medical device and diagnostic companies and/or IoT solutions in other industries
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively network, develop business and close sales
  • High level of interpersonal and excellent communication/negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel within Australia and internationally as and when needed
  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in engineering/technology/business
  • Self-motivated, commercially-focused and resilient
