Design Engineer

Our client is a well-established Civil Engineering consulting firm, specialising in commercial and urban land development projects. Providing services from design development through to construction management, our client is seeking a enthusiastic and motivated Design Engineer/Civil Designer to join their close-knit team located in Notting Hill, Melbourne.

About the Role

This role will require a sound understanding of all design aspects relating to urban residential development, specifically in relation to the design of roads, drainage, and earthworks. You will be a qualified Civil Engineer who has experience working within a design office, as well as knowledge of the use of design software.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide day to day management of the design office
• Undertake detailed design for civil engineering projects in accordance with relevant codes and standards
• Liaise with semi government & government authorities (Council, Melb Water etc.)
• Provide support to junior Engineers and Designers
• Provide monthly reports and updates to Directors

Skills and Requirements:

• Minimum 5-7 years experience in a design office
• Civil Engineering degree or a related engineering degree
• Proficient in AutoCAD & 12d design packages (road, sewer & water)
• Experience in the drafting of civil infrastructure such as roads, subdivisions, waterways and urban development projects
• Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant drafting and design standards for road authorities etc. to ensure compliance with their requirements
