An exciting opportunity exists within a growing medical manufacture facility for technical support. Momentum is a leading Australian provider of rehabilitation support to clients with injuries and disabilities, specialising in the manufacture and fitting of medical bracing and prosthetic limbs. Momentum provides centralised fabrication of custom made orthotic and prosthetic technologies to medical facilities across Australia.
The successful applicant will be someone who can work effectively and efficiently within an enthusiastic team of technicians and clinical care providers. The applicant will be motivated to provide high quality products with timely service. They will have excellent hand skills, be proficient multi-taskers, possess a great attention for detail and take pride in quality workmanship. Prior experience in the field of Orthotic and Prosthetic device manufacture is not essential.
Generous salary package, commensurate with experience. Relocation assistance will be available to the successful applicant.
The provision of technical workshop services, including the manufacture, repair, modification and maintenance of custom Orthotic and Prosthetic devices.
Implementation of a wide range of manufacturing processes, techniques and materials including plastic thermo-forming, carbon fibre laminates, metals and textiles.
Use of simple Computer Aided Manufacturing techniques.
Monitoring and maintaining machinery, including reporting and co-ordination of repairs.
Working collaboratively with clinical staff, including advising and implementing creative approaches to material applications and manufacturing techniques.
Assistance in the maintenance of workshop stock levels.
Skills & competencies (essential)
Experience in an area of manufacturing or fabrication, not limited to the trades of:
Excellent technical skills evidenced by strong experience utilizing a variety of hand and power tools, machines and materials.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Experience using or willingness to learn Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) techniques.
Skills & competencies (desirable)
Experience in the fabrication, maintenance and repair of custom and off-the-shelf orthotic and prosthetic devices.

Self-motivation and willingness to learn
