Business Manager

The Company

For almost 125 years, the United Jewish Education Board (UJEB) has been providing formal and informal Jewish education and culturally rich experiences to Victorian students who do not attend Jewish schools. We aim to inspire a positive connection with Jewish identity and to help our students develop into proud and engaged members of the Jewish community. UJEB runs an extensive range of out-of-school-hours and lunch-time programs for primary and secondary school students.

The Role

The Business Manager will lead a team of dedicated administrators responsible for managing the internal operations, fundraising and communications of UJEB, ensuring the organisations capacity to effectively service its participants.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

REGULATORY AND OPERATIONAL COMPLIANCE

  • Child safety compliance
  • Risk assessments
  • Compliance with State Government program requirements
  • Child Care Subsidy compliance
  • Operational aspects of professional development program
  • Managing employment contracts
  • Entering into contracts and licences for UJEB

FINANCIAL SYSTEMS

  • Oversight of accounting processes including software, systems and invoicing
  • Oversight of management reporting, accounts receivable and payable
  • Preparation and delivery of UJEBs budget
  • Salesforce CRM management
  • Oversight of organisational fundraising

MAJOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Website management
  • Systems change and continuous improvement
  • Significant projects as required from time to time

LEADERSHIP

  • Provide significant organisation-wide leadership support to the Executive Principal
  • Oversight of UJEBs internal and external communication
  • Supervise the day to day operations of the administration team to ensure UJEBs goals are met
  • Embed UJEBs values into everything we do

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Significant financial management and literacy
  • Business and/or office management experience
  • Regulatory compliance experience
  • Education or Not for Profit industry experience will be highly regarded
  • Experience in managing direct reports
  • Systems and process management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good time management skills and demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Passion for what we do!

A proven self-starter, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently and take initiative. These attributes, coupled with your ability to exercise sound judgement, will hold you in good stead for this role.
