Mechanical Fitter

Leading national renewable energy and carbon abatement company LMS ENERGY requires the services of a Mechanical Fitter to be based in Adelaide, South Australia. You will be required to construct and maintain renewable energy and flaring facilities nationally. You must be positive, a friendly team player, and demonstrate a great work ethic and initiative in day-to-day tasks. You will receive on-the-job training in a multifaceted role which has potential for career growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Construct renewable energy facilities, flaring facilities and associated equipment
  • Local manufacturing and assembly of gas plant equipment 
  • Installation of landfill gas system pipework and componentry
  • Assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities  
  • Assist with engine and module rebuilds and relocations across Australia
  • Apply skills and knowledge in general fabrication and assembly
  • Understand and follow construction drawings and work plans 
  • to ensure correct implementation of designs 
  • Communicate effectively with contractors and external parties 
  • Communicate with employees in other groups (i.e. Engineering, Installations & Operations)
  • Perform assigned duties in a timely and safe manner
  • Practice good cost management 
  • Work on or near landfill sites, understanding the hazardous conditions that may be present 
  • Ensure proper implementation of OHS requirements and adherence to corporate policies and procedures 
  • Support the wider Projects Group, including fellow employees, Supervisors and Managers

Requirements:

  • Mechanical fitter trade qualification or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 3+ years proven working experience
  • Basic welding/fabrication skills pipe fitting, Tig and or poly welding is a bonus
  • Knowledge of basic pneumatics
  • Fast learner who shows initiative on the job
  • Upholds LMS' company values and culture
  • Holds a current Australian driver's license
  • Regular interstate travel will be required
  • Forklift licence (desirable)
  • Working at heights (desirable)
  • Experience with blowers/rotating machinery (desirable)
  • Welding/fabrication experience (desirable)
