Road Sweeper Driver/ Service Technician

The Role

Working with the Operations team, the Sweeper Operator/ Service Technician will be responsible for sweeping the site, working to agreed schedules whilst performing maintenance and mechanical repairs to all on site machinery. Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Operating the road sweeper within and around public spaces
  • Perform essential pre and post-operation maintenance checks
  • Inspecting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues
  • Carry out on-site maintenance and repairs
  • Conduct weekly and monthly scheduled services
  • Adhere to all safety and workplace policies and procedures

The hours of employment are as followed

Must be available to work between the hours 2.00pm to 10.06pm Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday

About You 

To ensure your success in this role which is located in Melbourne's CBD we anticipate that the successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience operating a road sweeper
  • Experienced in the safe operation of vehicles around pedestrians
  • Strong Mechanical background or extensive service technician experience
  • Experience working on diesel engines
  • General mechanical and fault-finding experience
  • Previous welding and hydraulic knowledge is highly regarded
  • Current, valid Driver's Licence
  • Current, valid Medium/Heavy Rigid Driver's Licence
  • Current Police Check
  • Testing & Tagging license (not essential, can be provided)
  • To work well in an unsupervised situation and have the ability to solve problems
  • Understanding of safe work practices - WHS & OHS

Candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced security check prior to commencing work onsite. As a result, you must be an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident.
