Area Manager - Valves

Client
Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor of valves, flow control and a broad range of instrumentation products.
They have been around for 50 years and they have a team of application experts all over Australia.

Role
With rapid growth in Australia they have an opportunity for a technically minded Area Manager to join their performing team.
You will be looking after the Rockhampton area and surrounding, dealing with my client's mining customers, so a solid network in the mineral industry is essential for this role.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Forging and maintaining strong relationships with key contacts in existing and new accounts within the Mining Industry 
  • Identifying business development opportunities in the market
  • Preparation of quotes and tenders
  • Proactively identifying customer requirements, ensure compliance to specifications and finding appropriate solutions
  • Be customer focused and create awareness of my clients' products, services and solutions through customer visits, presentations, on site demonstrations and installations
  • Develop and maintain an accurate and ongoing sales pipeline
  • Develop and leverage the company’s brand and professional profile

Skills and experience:

  • A technical understanding of valves, instrumentation or related products
  • A proven ability to plan, develop and execute business development strategies
  • Proven ability to develop and implement B2B sales strategies
  • Excellent communication, listening and presentation skills
  • Strong background in negotiating and a proven sale track record
  • A degree in engineering is preferred, but not essential


Salary for this position goes up to 90K + Super + Car and excellent bonus structure on top.
