Roobuck is a small and dynamic emerging technology company. We are looking for an electronic/firmware design engineer for development of our world class wireless, mining and safety products based on our planned roadmap. You will play a key role to manage projects and also be mentored by highly experienced professionals.
Your first project will be BLE/WiFi module development. Thereafter, you will be tasked to design various terminal devices for our wireless system for underground mines. You will be responsible for the full development cycle, from concept design to circuit and firmware design, all the way to product release for mass production.
You will cooperate with industrial and university partners, manage contractors and communicate to customers within Australia and Overseas. All projects will involve international team work across multiple disciplines. The products will be used by many international mining operations. We will train you to expand your skills to comprehensive areas such as intrinsic safety, mining, lighting and QMS.
More than 3-years practical experience in electronic design
Working experience in EDA, preferred Altium
Design skill including firmware in microprocessor based applications
Experience in development of wireless devices including WiFi, BLE, LoRa, LTE or UWB is an advantage; as is the capacity to identify emerging technologies and adapt existing products to suit.
Bachelor or Masters Degree
Ability to be pro-active in providing technical advice and support to clients and sales personnel.
Ability to learn quickly
The role will require occasional interstate and overseas travel
Driver development for communication ports such as Ethernet, USB and UART
Speak Mandarin to work closely with supplier/contractors in China
Power management circuit design
The person sought should be mature, stable, technically competent and commercially aware.
