The Organisation

MSWA provides vital support and services to people living with all neurological conditions in Western Australia.  This includes people living with multiple sclerosis (MS), stroke, Parkinsons disease, Huntingtons disease, motor neurone disease and acquired brain injury.

The Role

Reporting to the ManagerEvents, this role is actively involved in the planning, implementing and evaluating of MSWA fundraising events and activities throughout the state.  The Events Coordinator also upholds responsibility for coordinating specific events including organising various activities and supervising event staff and participants. 

Whilst there is definitely an administrative component (planning, recording, reporting you know the drill!), make no mistake.  This is a fast-paced and hands on role requiring flexibility, some after-hours work and occasional travel.  It offers fun, variety and challenge -- 9-to-5-ers need not apply. 

Key Duties

    In collaboration with the Manager-Events, plan, implement, manage and evaluate MSWAs fundraising, promotional and community events. 

    Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing business partners, event participants, volunteers, fundraisers, sponsors, internal and external stakeholders

    Develop and help maintain promotional material and fundraising kits and resources

    Identify opportunities and contribute ideas for future growth of existing and new events.

Your Profile

You are a self-starter with loads of initiative, who thrives in an environment with lots of variety!  And naturally, you've had loads of experience in the coordination of events.

You also have:

• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills.
• An innovative approach to developing new profitable fundraising events and improving existing ones.
• Excellent written and verbal skills, including a demonstrated ability to make effective public and group presentations.
• Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft suite
• Current drivers licence and a motor vehicle.

  It would also be great (but not essential) if you have: 

• a healthy network of professional/business contacts
• experience in working with and/or managing volunteers
• knowledge of charitable and member based organisations
