We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Regional Category Manager to join our team in Balmain, NSW.

Reporting to the Regional Procurement Manager and closely with the Global Category Manager this position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to drive functional and operational excellence through management of the regions contracts, supplier relationships and tenders opportunities established from your advance analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

    • Internal demand analysis planning and forecasting

    • Develop and maintain short, medium- and long-term category strategies based on internal demand and market intelligence

    • Drive and execute the source-to-contract process and ensure the appropriate involvement of experts (e.g. legal, digital procurement team)

    • Ensure continuous improvement and optimisation of categories to drive cost efficiencies and effectiveness in operations

    • Manage and mitigate supply chain and supplier portfolio management risks

    • Manage contracts (implementation, monitoring, optimization, risk management)

    • Manage suppliers (onboarding, performance management, joint planning and objectives)

  • Define, execute and monitor inventory strategies


Who we are looking for

To be considered for this role you will have:

    • Bachelors qualifications in a relevant field

    • Strong experience in tender strategy and compliance & contract management

    • Demand and forecast management skills

    • scope and specifications skills

    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

    • Previous experience in the marine or mining industry

    • Knowledge of contracting, risk and opportunity management

    • Flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally

  • Above all, be a team player ready to assist in a dynamic and collaborative environment with no limitations on opportunities to grow
